The #CGScreative Corona Inspired Photo Challenge - Let’s tackle the Covid-19 stay home period, together.

CGScreative Instagram Challenge How to Grow your Instagram Following

It's been a REALLY long time since the last #CGScreative photo-challenge over on Instagram, and I am so excited to bring it back for a very special edition. With all the distressing news about Covid-19, and most people practicing social distancing & self-isolation, I thought this would be a really good time to bring back this challenge so help inspire and encourage creativity at a time when I think people are needing a little extra positivity in their lives.

Introducing the CGScreative ‘Corona’ Inspired Instagram Photo Challenge

A bonus of this challenge is that is has the affect of growing your Instagram following (because you’ll be ‘meeting’ & connecting with like-minded people from all over the world), and if you take the time to like and comment on the other photos, you’ll be helping others grow their Instagram account with lots of great engagement.

If you have been following me for a little while, you may remember the first photo challenges I hosted (all of which were a huge success with over 5000 submissions from people all over the world!.  It’s been over 2 years since I hosted my last one…I just, you know, needed a bit of time to make and have another baby ;)

I’ve decided to start today (the 21st March 2020) and continue until end end of the Easter weekend. This is when most people have been told to practice social distancing (although we all might be continuing for a lot longer).

Start on any day you’d like, and pick up wherever you can whenever you feel inspired to do so.

Interpreting the Prompts

You can interpret the prompts in any way you like. For example, for the second day (the first day is all about introducing yourself so I will leave that up to you to decide how you want to say hello to everyone), you'll think about the theme ('Beauty') and then go and take/create an image that sums up the word 'Beauty'...what does this mean to you? This could be a photo of your pet, a rose in the garden, or your child covered in mud, with you standing in the background looking frazzled but trying to find the ‘beauty’ in the everyday. The prompts are open to any and all interpretation and are designed to get your creative juices flowing.

Share the graphic above on Instagram (and any of your other social media platforms) so we can get as many people joining in as possible. The more people who join, the more engagement each of us will get. You can interpret each prompt in any way you'd like. It’s all about being creative and having fun. Also, please don’t feel 'pressured' to post every day. This challenge is supposed to be a fun way of engaging with each other, and if you happen to miss a few days it doesn’t mean you're a failure. It means you’re human and have a busy life.

Some tips to make the most out of this challenge:

  • Take a screen shot of your Instagram account when you start the challenge. You can also just take out a notebook and jot down your number of followers. This way you'll have something to look back on once the challenge is over.

  • Spend a few minutes each day engaging with the other people taking part in the challenge. You can do this by clicking on the #cgsphotochallenge hashtag. Take some time to like and comment on the other photos, start up a conversation with someone, or just encourage someone.

  • Reply to every comment you get on your images. If you don't get any comments, don't feel despondent. Spend some time going through some of the other photos and comment on the ones you like. You'll be amazed at how many people comment back, and then head on over to your profile to follow/like/comment on your images

So grab your phones and join me for the #CGScreative Corona Inspired Photo Challenge.

I hereby commit to snap a photo every day, and I made all the prompts easy, fun & totally doable so you can do the same. You can find me over on Instagram as @roxyhutton.

Don’t forget to add the hashtag #CGScreative & #CGSphotochallenge so we’ll all know you’re joining us!

I also created a screensaver for your phone of the above prompts if you need a reminder. Click the button below to download it.  I will be using the image as the lock screen on my phone to help me remember at a glance what the prompt is for the day.
